Turpin Farms
On Tuesday, September 2, the chapter held an open meeting and social at Turpin Farms (3295 Turpin Farms Lane, 45244) in Newtown. The food, animals, botanicals and scenery were fantastic. We owe much thanks to Pam and Randy Simmons of Turpin Farms for their hospitality. We would also like to thank Rose Seger of Green City Resources and Tara Maddock of Mill Creek Watershed Council for their sponsorship of the event.
Held Tuesday, August 19th at Hixson. Thank You to GreenAdvantage, Hixson and our own Sanyog Rathod and Amy Ostigny for putting on this first of it's kind workshop.
Fernald Preserves and Visitors Center tour - Thursday, August 7th, 5:30 pm, Ross, Ohio.

The transformation is very impressive, and the Visitor's Center, with the history of Fernald showcased, is well worth the visit. This building is seeking Platinum level certification from the USGBC (it would be the first in Ohio). Thank you to Sue Walpole and the staff of Fernald Visitor's Center, Jenny Russell and our event sponsors Glaserworks, Megen Construction and RPC Mechanical.

The USGBC Cincinnati Chapter teamed with Green Energy Ohio to host the full-day workshop, which featured 17 presenters, including Hamilton County Commissioner Todd Portune. We would like to express our gratitude to GEO, The Cincinnati Zoo and all of the presenters for a very informative and unique workshop.

USGBC LEED for New Construction and Major Renovation Technical Review Workshop, Thursday April 24, 2008
80 people attended the workshop at the Blues Ash Embassy Suites (a sell-out). Mr. Mark Shanahan - Energy Advisor to Governor of Ohio - Cincinnati Zoo Schott Education Center- Tuesday February 19, 2008
Mr. Shanahan met with community leaders and presented the Governor's plans and initiatives related to Ohio's Energy Plan, incentives to the private sector, managing utilities and Ohio's role as a provider in the future of energy. Solar Decathlon - Washington, DC - October 12 - 20, 2007
The Cincinnati Chapter of the USGBC is a proud sponsor of the University of Cincinnati's "[re]form" entry to the Department of Energy's Solar Decathlon on the National Mall in Washington, DC October 12th through 20th.
