Education & Programs Committee

The Education and Program Committee (EPC) is responsible for organizing Membership Meetings, programming LEED Workshops, developing Joint Curriculum and EPP Workshops, planning and organizing Speakers Series and organizing Site Tours, Field Trips and Joint Workshops and Events. The EPC identified speakers, develops educational curriculm and presentations, and works with educational partners including AIA Inland California, Chaffey College, San Bernardino Community College District among others.

Emerging Green Builders (EGB)

The Emerging Green Builders (EGB) is a USGBC Committee aimed to integrate students and young professionals into the green building movement primarily through its local chapter network. An emerging green builder is anyone from any discipline interested in becoming more involved in green building. This group is comprised of students and young professionals but EGB also incorporates seasoned professionals who are new to the green building industry. For USGBC discounts one must be within 5 years of graduation or under 25.

 

Active Energy Efficiency (EE) & Renewable Energy (RE) Committee

The Energy Efficiencies & Renewable Energy Committee (EE &RE) contributes to the Inland Empire, through the Membership of the USGBC-IE, a dedicated forum related to the challenges, facts, policies and developments of emerging energy efficiency practices, renewable energy solutions, power storage technologies and the implementation thereof.

The Energy Efficiencies & Renewable Energy Committee will strive to educate the Inland Empire’s building, legislative, municipal and educational institutions, on the highlights and failures of the aforementioned technologies’.

The Finance Committee is responsible for ensuring organizational fiscal health and adequate funding for Ongoing Educational and Membership Activities and Programming through Fundraising Initiatives, and Sponsorship Development.

The Legislative Committee is responsible for keeping the membership informed to increase awareness of green and sustainable legislative developments at the federal, state and local levels, and for identifying the potential impacts to development and building practices within our region.  The committee is also a resource for Inland Empire legislators, governing agencies, real estate, design and construction professionals.

The Marketing & PR Committee is responsible for Website development and maintenance, preparing event programs and informational materials, broadcasting upcoming events, maintaining Chapter documents, archiving Chapter activities and managing Chapter Media Relations.

Membership Committee

The Membership Committee (MP) is a critical working group and outreach arm of the USGBC-IE Chapter. The MC’s primary responsibility is to actively engage and retain members, potential members and Chapter friends and partners in the mission and activities of the Chapter. The MC serves as a critical communications link between the membership and Chapter core and sector-based committees, forums, task forces and board of directors.

The MC’s primary goals are to:

  • Orient new members to Chapter committees, forums, task forces and activities
  • Recruit  and retain new members and chapter leaders
  • Support the development of a strong regional member network
  • Monitor and identify member needs, talents and capacities
  • Support Chapter committees, forums and on-going events and workshops through member engagement and participation

Municipalities FORUM (Muni FORUM)

Goals: To further the purpose of the U.S. Green Building Council and USGBC-IE, the USGBC-Inland Empire Municipalities Forum provides environmentally sound and socially responsible ideas to municipalities to aid in the development of policies and practices that will form an interwoven green foundation to a sustainable Inland Empire.

The Muni FORUM'S primary goals are to:

  • Provide information supporting green building and LEED practices to all Municipalities in the Inland Empire
  • Connect Municipalities in Inland Empire to USGBC and the Chapter
  • Support green building and LEED practices
