Emerging Green Builders (EGB)
The Emerging Green Builders is a USGBC Committee aimed to integrate students and young professionals into the green building movement
primarily through its local chapter network. An emerging green builder is anyone from any discipline interested in becoming more involved in
green building. This group is comprised of students and young professionals but EGB also incorporates seasoned professionals who are
new to the green building industry. For USGBC discounts one must be within 5 years of graduation or under 25.
Objectives
- Spread awareness about green building methods in the Inland Empire, including LEED and others such as the Superadobe approach.
- Showcase innovative facilities, projects, and other efforts being undertaken by different people, groups, and organizations to combat global warming.
- Provide forums for both students/young professionals and industry professionals to learn from each other and coordinate their efforts.
- Host major speakers and young professionals who will discuss their work and their organizations/institutions
- Provide students with opportunities for internships and possible jobs in green industries by connecting them to key officials and organizations seeking young workers.
