The U. S. Green Building Council Alabama Chapter held their first meeting August 6, 2003 and became a full chapter in January 2005.
We have many exciting events planned for 2006. Some the events include guest speakers knowledgeable in the areas of Sustainable design and LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), as well as a LEED Workshop in the Birmingham area. Look for more news in the upcoming weeks on this website and in our newsletter.
There are many benfits to joining the Alabama Chapter including: a chance to meet green building practitioners, networking, and strategizing on ways to speed the adoption of green building practices in our state. One of our main goals when the Alabama Chapter was formed was to bring the national mission to a local level.
