His expertise as a commercial Realtor is an asset in understanding what drives building owners in going Green and obtaining a LEED certification benefiting the building owner, tenants and occupants.
Bruce Trimburs background in business is noteworthy. As past owner of the S.L. Bagby Company for over 17 years, a commercial and industrial lighting representative firm, he has a complete understanding of business ownership, the lighting / construction market how it relates to investment properties. He is a LEED AP with the U.S. Green Building Council, Lighting Certified (LC) through the National Council on Qualification for the Lighting Profession, member of Illuminating Engineer Society, IESNA 1986. He has served as past president for the 1230 West Morehead Office condominium association, Illuminating Engineering Society - Tar Heel Section, HOA board member, graduate of the Lake Norman Leadership Program - Class IX, Charlotte Good Fellows Club 1986... Bruce Trimbur has been a resident of the Charlotte area for over 23 years presently residing in Cornelius, NC. Representing his dedication to his community, he serves as an Advisory Commissioner for the Town of Cornelius, North Carolina, Department of Parks, Arts, Recreation and Culture (PARC), an active member of Davidson United Methodist Church, serving as the Co-chair of the Strategic Planning committee, Board of Stewards, Facilities planning committee, Fellowship & Hospitality committee, Sunday school committee, Sunday school teacher and other committees in addition, past President for the Wildcat Investment Club of Davidson. Bruce received his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1978 in the school of Industrial Technology from Indiana State University.

In general, why do you wish to be a member of the Charlotte Region Chapter Board and what opportunities do you see for the Chapter?
I believe in giving back to my community. What better way then becoming more involved with the USGBC in Charlotte, my home for over 22 years. Sustainable construction methods should be embraced by all future construction projects for our planet and children. I want to be a big part of that movement.

I just recently joined USGBC and became a LEED AP. I have tried to attend every meeting when in town since becoming a member.

Operated with a company philosophy of (PHP) properly/ honestly/ profitably. Sold the business in 2004 to a partnership, which continues to thrive and employ most of my team, maintaining the valuable alliances I created.
