Larry Ostema, LEED® AP
Larry Ostema has a passion for helping companies maximize profit from green projects.
With a unique background in clean tech and distributed generation, Mr. Ostema advises
commercial developers on green issues, aids the growth of energy technology companies, and assists the emerging green debt and equity financing organizations. Mr. Ostema heads the Green Initiatives Group at Horack Talley.
He most recently served as the General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer of a real estate investment company in Denver, Colorado, and as a Partner in the Business Transactions Group of Baker & Hostetler’s Denver office.
Mr. Ostema has spent fifteen years representing emerging growth and real estate companies in domestic and international debt fi nancing, equity fi nancing, and project financing. He has handled mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and corporate matters. His clients include energy technology companies focused on distributed generation and renewable energy technologies, real estate developers and investors, private equity funds, and developers of carbon credits and clean technology projects.
Mr. Ostema was the first attorney in the Carolinas to become a LEED Accredited
Professional®, a designation awarded after training and certification in the technologies
and concepts defined as Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design by the U.S. Green Building Council. Larry Ostema currently serves as Co-Chair of the Advocacy Committee in the Charlotte Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
