Who We Are

Emerging Green Builders are students and young professionals dedicated to becoming and recruiting the future leaders of the green building movement.

EGB groups around the country offer young people the opportunity to get involved in green building locally, gain access to USGBC resources, and participate in local events.

VISION
EGB’s vision is to integrate students and young professionals into the green building movement.

MISSION
EGB’s mission is to create a network of emerging green building leaders, develop opportunities for involvement through the USGBC, and to further generate momentum for the green building industry.

INVOLVEMENT
It is not EGB’s position to exclude anyone and all EGB events are open to any member of the building community who is interested in learning about the green building industry. However, EGB members are defined as students or emerging professional who is within five years of graduation.

Getting Involved

HOW TO JOIN
1. Go to: https://www.usgbc.org/DisplayPage.aspx?CategoryID=24

2. Click where it says “Join a Chapter”

3. If you are already a registered customer with the USGBC, complete the login and then proceed to step 5 of these instructions.

4. If you ARE NOT already a registered USGBC customer, click where it says “New to USGBC? Register now”, complete the form and submit it.

5. On the next page select "Charlotte Region Chapter" and "Emerging Green Builder".
(Note: If you only have the option to join the Chapter, not EGB, you may need to unlink any National USGBC membership affiliation - such as the company you work for - from your account and then sign up.)

6. Click the “Continue to Checkout” button located at the bottom right side of the page and follow the instructions.

MONTHLY MEETINGS
Held the third Tuesday of each month. (Except the month of April due to Charlotte Clean and Green. For more details about time/location email us.
