The USGBC Charlotte Region Chapter is a non-profit organization and one of the newest Chapters of the U.S. Green Building Council. The USGBC is a coalition of leaders and concerned citizens from across the building industry working to promote buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work.

Our Chapter’s primary mission is education. Through educational programs, we will enable people to make decisions based on an understanding of basic environmental, health and economic issues related to building, construction and development. We are reaching out to builders, facility managers, designers, product manufacturers, developers, civic leaders, and community advocates. Our goal for the coming year is to empower area leadership with the knowledge required to make responsible decisions and instruct others.

As part of our efforts to transform the built environment in the Charlotte Region, we are seeking sponsors to support our Chapter operations and activities in 2008.

The USGBC Charlotte Region Chapter's outreach will be in the following NC counties:

Mecklenburg, Union, Cabarrus, Rowan, Iredell, Lincoln, Gaston, Scotland, Richmond, Anson, Montgomery, Stanley, Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Stokes, Yadkin, Surry, Alleghany, Ashe, Watauga, Avery, Wilkes, Alexander, Caldwell, Catawba, Burke, Cleveland, Rutherford, McDowell, Mitchell, Yancy, Madison, Buncombe, Henderson, Polk, Transylvania, Haywood, Jackson, Swain, Macon, Clay, Graham, and Cherokee.
