This program will explore the experiences of various
members of the design team as they relate the practical
lessons learned while navigating the LEED certification
process with their respective projects. The program is
divided into two parts:
I. Design & Engineering. Members from Holabird &
Root examine LEED rating points with examples from
Central College 's Vermeer Science Center (Silver
Rating) and Grinnell College Conard Environmental
Research Center
Jan Behounek, AIA, CDT, LEED AP, Associate
Michele Dremmer, LEED AP, Director of Interior
Design
Lee C. Tapper, PE, CIAQP, LEED AP, Director of
Engineering
II. Commissioning. ESD will review the
commissioning process and how it has become more
prominent due to LEED Certification. Projects referenced
include the Spertus Institute of Jewish Studies,
Lakefront Supportive and North Exelon Pavilion
Dan W. Murphy, PE, CBCP, LEED-AP, Senior Vice
President, Director of LEED Practice, Environmental
Systems Design.
