Job Description: |
The Building Program Manager (BPM) will develop, market, and implement a wide variety of best-in-class building programs, including, but not limited to, energy audit, energy management, waste management, water management, preventative maintenance, tenant communications, and LEED EB certification assistance, to building owners, management teams, and tenants. The BPM will lead a team focused on existing buildings, including commercial office buildings, office spaces, hotels, restaurants, residential high-rises, and industrial buildings. Programs and projects will be client defined and meet client goals and objectives, but will be financially, as well as environmentally, viable, producing measurable results with established metrics.
SKILL SET:
- 3 - 5 years building management or operational experience
- 4 year, or equivalent, vocational accreditation in environmental, mechanical, or electrical engineering
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Energy Manager in Training (EMIT)
- U.S. Green Building LEED EB accredited and experience in LEED EB certification is a plus
- Working knowledge of HVAC systems, building lighting, boiler and building operations, and preventative maintenance
- Experienced energy auditor, use of audit equipment, tests, metrics, and checklists
- Project management skills - a record of leading diverse teams to achieve project oriented goals on time and on budget
- Working knowledge and use of energy management data loggers and program systems is desired
- Excellent written and oral communications such that developed programs and projects can be effectively communicated to all stakeholders
- Candidate will have managed a team of 3 - 10 people in their past and have experience in hiring, firing, training, OSHA, employee development, and the ability to manage to clear and concise goals and objectives
- Sales/Consulting: Ideal candidate will have experience in selling their services to 3rd party clients, developing projects and programs to meet clients' goals and scope, and to deliver projects on time with friendly and courteous professionalism

Preferred candidate will undertake a variety of tasks on energy assessment / renewable energy projects including, but not limited to, field work, such as electrical / lighting efficiencies, HVAC commissioning / re-commissioning, renewable energy feasibility studies, and heating/cooling efficiencies, as well as office work, such as data input, analysis, modeling, and reporting. ACCOUNTABILITIES

KNOWLEDGE
Preferred candidates will possess, at a minimum, a 2 year college diploma in environmental / civil / electrical / mechanical engineering technology, or equivalent experience, in lieu of degree. Other qualifications and assets may include, but not required:
- Certification as Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Energy Manager in Training (EMIT) or ability and desire to achieve such (or similar) certification
- Working knowledge of heating, ventilation, and cooling (HVAC) systems and their impact on energy consumption
- Working knowledge of ASHRAE 90.1
