Welcome to our monthly Newsletter!
The Flatwater
Chapter is involved in two exciting events this month:
On
August 23rd, the inaugural Lincoln Green by
Design seminar, "What a Green Building Program Can Do For You," will be presented from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Green Plains Gallery, 12th & P streets in Lincoln. The seminar, led by Joslyn Castle Institute's Cecil
Steward, the Flatwater Chapter of the USGBC, and
AIA-Nebraska, will explore the following questions:
• What will a municipal green building program do for the City of
Lincoln?
• What have other similar programs accomplished around the country?
• How does such a program fit into a regional framework of sustainable
design and development?
• What are material and site components for a successful green
building?
On
August 28th, Movie Night. Nebraska Emerging Green Builders and the USGBC Flatwater
chapter will show An Inconvenient Truth. 5:30 pm at Leo A Daly. Discussion following with Mary Ferdig,
