Featured Project: Oldham County Public Library Set for LEED Silver
With commissioning complete and final paperwork submitted, the 30,000 square foot Oldham County Public Library expects to achieve LEED Silver making it the first LEED certified public library in the state of Kentucky and the first LEED building in Oldham County. Susan Eubank, library director, spearheaded the effort to seek approval from the volunteer library board for LEED certification. “We knew LEED certification would save utility costs in the long run, but the board ultimately decided to certify because it was the right thing to do at the right time,” said Eubank. In addition to the many internal amenities, the library offers walking trails throughout the 8.5 acres and electric car charging stations. Over 400 citizens attended the ribbon cutting ceremonies held January 11. Library Site
