Whole Building
Commissioning

Commissioning is a process which
verifies and documents completed system performance for
buildings. The methodical, organized approach to commissioning
identifies potential performance deficiencies before owner occupancy
and may also include verification of proper training and
documentation for future maintenance and operation of the
building. USGBC has recognized the benefits of commissioning
and has made this process a requirement for achieving
certification.
Information will be
presented describing in detail the tasks prescribed by USGBC and
ASHRAE for a properly commissioned project. In addition, information
on developing commissioning plans, installation and functional
performance testing checklists, approach to the work, costs and
benefits will be discussed.
