USGBC-STL and ULI-St. Louis
present a joint program offering local and regional
perspectives on creating a more sustainable built environment and
community. Panelists will discuss best practices, obstacles,
challenges, and opportunities in greening a municipality and
community.
LaRee DeFreece, Vice President of Global Sustainability
Consulting Services, HOK, will provide an
overview of best practices from around the country regarding local
and regional sustainable initiatives.
Petree
Eastman, Assistant City
Manager, University City,
will discuss the City Hall renovation and a new project for LEED
certified Workforce Housing in conjunction with Washington University.
John
May, City of Creve Coeur Climate Action Task
Force, will present information on their
climate task force and greenhouse gas inventory report, which is
the first to be completed by a city in the St. Louis region.
Marjorie
Melton, President of the Board of Public Service,
City of St. Louis,
will focus on the challenges that the City of St.
Louis had to overcome in building the new LEED-certified
North Side and South
Side Community
Recreation Centers.
In addition, representatives from FOCUS St. Louis
and Sustainable
St. Louis will be on hand to provide
information on their efforts and answer questions.
