USGBC-STL 5th Annual LEED Showcase - May 20

St. Louis now boasts 20 LEED Certified Projects (18 commercial and 2 homes) and over 70 LEED Registered Projects! This program will feature presentations on four local projects pursuing LEED certification. We’ll also hear updates on projects featured over the past four years.

Federal and Local Green Building Legislation


National Legislation:
The 21st Century High-Performing Public School Facilities Act - would provide $6.4 billion dollars for green school construction and improvements to public schools in the U.S.

Missouri Legislation:
Senate Bill 964 - Creates the Show Me Green Sales Tax Holiday and provides financial assistance for voluntary energy audits, sponsored by Senator Jeff Smith

Senate Bill 1181 - Modifies and creates provisions regarding energy efficiency and energy conservation, sponsored By Senator Engler

Senate Bill 1261 - Creates requirements and provides incentives for energy efficient products and activities, sponsored by Senator Bray

Introducing WeCar!

If you haven't already heard (or seen), WeCar is a new car-sharing program available to those working and/or living downtown. Ride yoru bike to work downtown, but need to attend a lunch meeting? WeCar could be the answer! Car sharing is available in many cities around the US so it's exciting to have the option in St. Louis! Whether you need to run out on a quick errand or attend a business meeting, WeCar is a convenient, affordable and environmentally-friendly downtown transportation option

WeCars - gas-electric hybrid vehicles - are available at numerous locations downtown.

ReGreen Program - Save the Date for June 12!

The USGBC-STL Advocacy Committee is partnering with the local ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) to present a June 12 lunch program on ReGreen. Program planners are still firming up logistics, but look for the official ReGreen Program announcment soon!

What is ReGreen?

  • Best practice guidelines and targeted educational resources for sustainable residential improvement projects.

  • Developed through a p arntership between the American Society of Interior Designers’ Foundation and the U.S. Green Building Council

  • Targeted towards anyone interested in better understanding sustainable renovation project practices and benefits - homeowners, residents, design professionals, product suppliers and service providers
