The LEED Green Associate Credential is now available for professionals who want to demonstrate green building expertise in non-technical fields of practice. This accreditation denotes knowledge of green design, construction, and operations and is perfect for those that work in a field that promotes sustainability but are not implementing LEED, such as business development, marketing, teachers, students, lawyers, realtors, brokers, product manufacturers, journalists, etc. The Green Associate credential also serves as the first step for professionals pursuing a LEED AP specialization.

• Target Center Green Roof Tour
Are you ready to take a walk on the largest green roof in Minnesota? We’ve obtained special permission from the City of Minneapolis to bring a group up to the new 2.5 acre vegetated roof on top of the Target Center. After your close up look at the first green arena roof in North America (not to mention a bonus bird’s eye view of the new Target Field ballpark) we will learn all the details about this sustainable roofing option from Angie Durhman of Tecta America Corp, the largest green roof contractor in the nation.

• 5th ANNUAL CHAPTER MEETING
Please join us for the Chapter’s 5th Annual Meeting, which will include tours of TCF Bank Stadium, seeking LEED Certification, networking, sponsor exposition and trade show, silent auction, Chapter awards and recognition, an overview of Chapter activities, unveiling of the new Chapter logo and website, and an opportunity to provide input for the future direction of the Chapter. Hors d’oeuvres, desserts, and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided. Cash bar available.

• LEED Core Concepts & Strategies Workshop.
If you are planning to take a LEED Green associate exam prep course, join a study group or are just seeking a better understanding of LEED through essential knowledge of the LEED Rating Systems and sustainable building concepts sign up now for the LEED Core Concepts & Strategies Workshop. Space is limited, register early as the session fills quickly. This workshop presents LEED concepts at the credit category level - across building types and rating systems - and basics on the building certification process. Real project examples help demonstrate and reinforce learning.
Learning Objectives:
• Identify the key components of the LEED Rating System.
• Discuss overall LEED certification process.
• Describe the intents and associated concepts of each LEED credit category.
